Bongani Zungu says that returning to Mamelodi Sundowns has opened his vision to the work stuff washed-up at the club.

Zungu has returned to Sundowns without a several years overseas which included a title-winning season with Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.

The former Amiens midfielder spoke well-nigh his impressions without the Carling Black Label Cup.

Bongani Zungu himself got into the action, thanks to the fan votes and played in the challenging morning fixture versus Amazulu.

“We played in the morning and that was hard, but I told myself that I should enjoy. We played well and dominated the game and we won,” said Zungu equal to Soccer Laduma.

Sphelele Mkhulise impresses

Emerging midfield stalwart Sphelele Mkhulise impressed Bongani Zungu the most on his return.

He believes that with players like him in their ranks, Sundowns can rencontre for the Caf Champions League this season.

“Just to speak on the tournament, I finger we showed depth in our team.

“For me, seeing guys like Mkhulise…when I left here he was so young and seeing how he has grown as a player is unbelievable.

“We have depth and I unchangingly tell them in the dressing room that we can go as far as winning the Champions League if we focus and work nonflexible together,”

Sundowns are the only South African team represented in the Caf Champions League group stage.

They won through with the biggest volume win of the second round over part-timers La Passe.

The yank for the Caf Champions League group stage will take place later this month.

Sundowns are unrepealable only that they will not squatter Zamalek, Petro de Luanda or Horoya in the group stage as they share Pot 2 with those sides.

The Caf Champions League group stage gets underway in February 2022.

Sundowns will hope that by that time Bongani Zungu is up to speed.
